Civil & Environmental Engineering
My name is Melissa Renfrow and I am pursuing my Masters Degree in Agriculture Education working under Dr. Kattlyn Wolf. My research area focuses on the intricacies of facilitating group communication and creating a meaningful individual experience for students participating in a large, cross-disciplinary project. We are working within the grant to create a culture that values interdisciplinary collaboration and focuses on the growth of participating students. By creating a supportive and inclusive environment for students within a wide variety of subject matters and locations, I am striving to facilitate an enriching experience for all contributing students.
I am passionate about agriculture and upon completion of my degree I hope to continue to work in a capacity to support and educate on the topic. Whether in a classroom setting or in the field; the importance of building relationships that will add value for
collaborators as we work toward shared goals cannot be understated. By actively encouraging the exchange of ideas, we can pave the way for strong partnerships between the agricultural industry and producers or students, encouraging new ideas with mutual benefit. Guiding collaborative projects and creating enriching educational opportunities can shape a student’s future in a multitude of ways and I hope to begin a career with this purpose in mind.
