I’m Imran Hussain Mahdy pursuing my Ph.D. in Biological Engineering at the University of Idaho, Moscow. I’ve completed my Bachelors and Masters in Agricultural Engineering before joining UofI. I’m working under the supervision of Dr. B. Brian He on Engineering development of the thermochemical carbonization of dairy manure into hyrdochar for nutrient cycling. Our research is focused on developing a continuous flow process to produce hydrochar from dairy manure for phosphorus recycling. I’ve been doing batch process experiments on dairy manure to produce hydrochar. The data from batch experiments will be used to design the continuous flow process for optimized reaction conditions. Being involved in agriculture and waste management I aspire to become a leading expert in transforming agricultural waste into valuable products, thereby reducing environmental impact, and improving the sustainability of farming practices. I’m looking

forward to work as Biological/Bioprocess engineer in nationally renowned companies that works on agriculture sector. Lead research and development departments within agricultural or environmental technology companies, focusing on the development of new technologies for resource recovery and sustainable material production. Besides I’d love to work with environmental Engineering and consultancy farm on the implementation of sustainable waste management practices, sharing my expertise in the field of thermochemical carbonization. Join governmental agencies and/or international organizations to work on environmental protection projects, focusing on sustainable agriculture and waste management to improve ecological outcomes.
